now in Germany

Well, i've left my post back in Kelowna for awhile ... got some work to do in Germany ... tough life, I know. I'll be here until August 9th ... but i'm gonna miss Canada Day, a trip I had planned with some clients to Laguna Seca, Merrit Mountain Music Festival and August Long ... :(

Unfortunately, I had to come this time. I'm starting up a business with a some fellow clients in Germany and I had to come over to discuss a lot of the work and sign some contracts. I should make some good money while I'm here because Carsten always wants me to do a lot of work while I'm here.

If I get a chance, I'll head down to Italy on the 10th and meet up with my g/f, but I think that'll be tough since we have so much to discuss. But, I should have some time at the end of this month because all the guys will be going to Switzerland for an international meeting and so i will have nothing to do. A friend from Elementary school is traveling Europe right now and she has some free time right around the time of the meeting ... there's been some talk about heading to Madrid or Ibiza ...

Well, the day has begin and it's time to get to work.

Takin' a beating

The g/f managed to convince me to go to a Chiro and after receiving the x-rays back, my neck has almost completely lost it's curve. I know that's not a big deal now, but it could be in the future. Now, i've always considered Chiro's to be crack-pots, but I'm going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt ... he made me sit through a spiel explaining why he does what he does and why he thinks it works. Now, most people go to a Chiro and don't know why ... at least he give reasonable justification.

However, I don't think it helps when I'm working out 3xweek, Softball on Mon, Ultimate on Tue, Volleyball on Wed and trying to get in 2-3 days a week of cardio ... my body aches from head to toe, with my knee taking the brunt of most of it. Oh, and on top of that, I get to go paintballing this Friday and then golfing on Saturday ... not that golf is that strenous, but I don't think it helps with the whole healing process.

Finally

Been playing rec-softball for a couple years and it's been a huge change from hardball. But, I'm finally getting the hang of it. I'm really just too impatient for the ball to come all the way to me. I've gotten a few homeruns on the short park and a couple of the tops of the fences on the longer fields, but nothing substantial. I've totally changed my stance this past week to make the time that I actually swing at the ball a lot longer (very open stance with hands way up in the air). I got my usual line-drives, but a little cleaner my first 2 at-bats, but the 3rd was what I've been waiting for ... homerun over centerfield that was gone when it left the bat ... I'd estimate that it was around 330 ... man did that feel good. Unfortunately, my next at-bat, when it really would've counted (bottom of the 7th, tie game, runner on 1st), I tried too hard to put it out and it was a high (and i mean high) fly ball to rover ... she couldn't handle it, i got on, but we couldn't pull it out. Wish I figured this stance out at the beginning of the year ... i guess there's always next year (only 1 game plus playoffs left).

What a week

Went down to Seattle to watch the Blue Jays play Seattle. They split the 2 games, so at least I got to see them win. It's pretty sweet to watch a live game no matter who wins. The g/f came down too and she kept me awake so the 6 hour drive wasn't so bad. The hotel wasn't a lot to look at but it had a confortable bed and a decent breakfast (which I only managed to enjoy the day we left).

This weekend was pretty good too. Had dinner made for me on Fri by the sweet g/f and went out with the boys on Sat. The aura that a guy puts out when he has a g/f must be pretty strong because I was beating the women off with a stick. One of the A-squad was pretty sloshed and had issues staying away from his f*** buddy ... made her look more like a g/f.

Went for a bike ride to Vernon w/ the g/f and her friend Sukia to meet my parents. My step-mom showed off her new Shadow which she will be trading in for a Harley in a year ... I really need to get a new bike. Mine's decent, but it's a little small (engine and size).
