Air Transat --- BOOOOO!!!!

Ok, maybe that's not fair. A couple days ago, I returned from Germany (business) and we flew on Air Transat. It was $600 cheaper than Air Canada, Luftansa and KLM, so it was hard to turn them down ... well, i can see why it is so much cheaper ... I would have had more room if they stuffed me in the cargo hold. I feel even worse for our graphic designer that came with us because he is 6'4" and when the person in front of him layed his/her chair back, he was eating the seat (not to mention the lack of leg room). Because of this, we had to each get aisle seats because it would never have worked if we were beside each other.

I guess if we were only flying a few hours, then this wouldn't be a big deal, since this is pretty much the same as if I flew from Kelowna to Vancouver in one of the small planes that seat around 100. They did make amazing time ... it normally takes about 12 hours (if I remember correctly), but they managed it in 8hours. Also, the service was above average (not extraordinary) and I had no problem eating any of the food (although, having to pay for booze sucks ... i am pretty sure all the other airlines are free for international travel). The flight back was somewhat better than the flight there too, as the 3 movies that they played made the time go by very quickly (X-men III, MI II, and Zoro II).

Apparently, Air Transat has something called Club Class ... they don't have any 1st or business class equivelant, but their Club Class is apparently better than economy on most planes and only a couple hundred more. So, if it comes again that the price is that different from the other air lines, then I will take that for a spin ... but ONLY if that is available will I fly them again ... it's just too far to be that cramped.
