Religious Rights

A friend sent me this link today: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=445979&in_page_id=1770

Summary: They are talking about removing teachings of the Holocaust because Muslims don't see the history the same way that others do.  Many people will jump on this and say "screw them", that's a part of history and needs to be taught (learn from mistakes, etc, etc).

However, the same people against allowing the removal of teaching the Holocaust are the same people that would like to have the teaching of "evolution" removed. The feelings may not be as emotional, but the arguments are very similar.

Going in a bit of a different direction, but following a similar rant ...

It's kind of like how some people will argue that Easter should not be celebrated because it is not a proper holiday, but Christmas is ok ... what?? Last time I checked, Santa was about as fake as the Easter Bunny. One holiday may be stronger than the other, but you can't go half-way. All these holidays that are so enjoyed by the masses should not be removed from a couple children based on their parents beliefs ... exceptions should be made. WAIT!! Before jumping on me about making exceptions, think about your own life. Had sex before marriage? Drink a little bit too much? Steal (cheating the govt counts)? shall I go on? ... those are all exceptions that many of the same people have made ... don't rob your child of these joyous occasions because you think you are in the righteous ... don't be a hypocrite. When your children are old enough to understand all these things, give them the choice to make their own decisions. That is their right.
