Women and shorter guys
I found this article on Digg today and found it quite humorous. Being actively involved in sports, I've had many female friends that keep a very strict diet of taller men.
For the most part, it's ingrained in the women and they rarely think about it, but it usually comes down to feeling "secure". If something were to happen, then theoretically, the man could protect the women. There have been other reasons floating around like women like to cuddle up into the man's chest, they don't like bending down to kiss the man (as they aren't used to it, it feels degrading in their minds to the men - i wouldn't know if that's how the men feel), etc.
Anyway, this article brings another factor into the equation. Women will accept the shorter man when money is involved. This article says that the man must make $200k or more, but this study is based on online dating. The rules are probably a bit different, but in reality I think it comes down to a security thing. Whether it's money, height, or something else that the man can offer that the women has a need for ... it boils down to security (remember, this doesn't apply to tall men ... we can have whatever we want) :D
But, don't fret all you short men. There are always exceptions to the rules ... maybe you're really really funny ... oh, you're not ... well, good luck anyway ;)
